Operations Technican

As part of this expansion, we are looking to recruit a Operations Manager.  Based in Washington, DC you will ensure operational workflows required by live services are maintained.  Main Responsibilities •    Understanding of at least one end-to-end operational workflow, its purpose and requirements. •    Monitors support structures fixing issues or escalating when necessary. •    Ensures smooth running of the workflow to agreed standard. •    An ability to respond promptly when called upon •    Identifies workflow issues that need for attention and initiates appropriate response. •    Understands stakeholders requirements. •    Prioritise work under guidance of  senior colleagues. •    Accurate logging of activities. •    Able to follow instructions of senior team members. •    Keeps informed of changing operational requirements. •    Ensure Health and Safety at Work Act, Working Time Directive and other workplace legislation are is; responsible for ensuring that risk assessments are completed, appropriate and meet BBC standards; responsible for ensuring appropriate method statements are reviewed and fit for purpose.    Are you the right candidate? •    Good understanding of end-to-end operational workflows; their purpose and typical requirements. •    Appreciation of the requirements of a workflow from a technical perspective – how components are inter-reliant and impact the workflow. •    Experience of overcoming challenges in operational processes and common fixes. •    Able to identify indicators which suggest an issue within a workflow, whether through monitoring or responding to an unexpected variation. •    Appreciation of support structures and escalation process when a cannot be performed. •    A high degree of computer literacy. •    Experience in an operational, support or customer-facing role, preferably supporting live services. •    Effective administrative skills with a flexible approach to a wide range of duties. •    Experience of working under pressure and delivering to tight deadlines. •    Self-assured communication and interpersonal skills. •    Ability to work on own initiative. •    Ability to learn BBC health and safety standards, processes and relevant regulatory requirements   Job Package Job title: Operations Technician  Job reference: 15498 Band: D Contract type: Permanent – Local terms and conditions apply Location: Washington DC, USA Final day to apply: 29th May 2024 This is a local hire position and eligible candidates must be able to live and work in the US (US citizenship, Green Card or existing work authorisation).   Job Introduction The BBC is the world’s leading public broadcaster and BBC News is at the heart of it.
